Noirmoutier

Noirmoutier or "l'Île aux mimosas" (the mimosa island) for its mild climate, which allows mimosa trees to grow and flower in winter.

The island of Noirmoutier is linked to the mainland by the passage du Gois at low tide. At high tide, the 4km-long road disappears beneath the sea.

Passage du Gois: An old market garden route used to link the island to the mainland. This route is taken according to tide times.
The beaches of Bois de la Chaise: with its coves and blue bathing cabins, typical of this island.

Yeu Island

The Vendée is blessed with some magnificent islands. As well as the island of Noirmoutier, you can cross the ocean again to the island of Yeu.
